My Cousin Emailed Me - She's 105

Imagine having an email thread with a cousin 40 years your senior.  It puts your life into perspective. 

My most senior cousin and I each celebrated an early July birthday and have many common interests, so we email often.  She never takes long to respond and her emails are always filled with sage advice.  She lives in her own house in Chatham, Massachusetts.  My husband and I were there for her 100th birthday and it is only since then that she took in personal assistants. 

I'm not going to give away the content of our email exchange after her 105th birthday celebration because I've written an article for publication.  I will say that receiving a birthday card from her in the mail, which she addressed and signed herself, made my heart smile.  While she is not biologically related, we are connected with the help of an ongoing email exchange.  In last week's blog, I spoke about my happy place, the Catskill Mountains.  That's where my cousin was born in 1913.
