Delayed Blog

Sorry for the delay of my Tuesday blog. Stay tuned.

I’m up and running. Those words are so true. On deadline to submit an article on a story I reported on for the newspaper where I am a contributing writer, first, I had to wait for the holiday to end and sneak in a visit to my brother in the V.A. hospital. Lucky for me, the facility is a 15 minute walk from my house, so I was able to get some exercise in the midst of it all.

The hectic day made me ponder, where do our priorities lie? What would others do? Would they say they didn’t have the time now? Late last night, with the holiday over, the visit to my brother accomplished, and a chance to edit the article I was preparing to submit this morning, I put a hold on my Tuesday blog. One little item, which I calculated as the scheduled piece I could delay. Not that it isn’t important to me and to you but we could all wait one day.

Being a journalist has taught me patient perseverance, timeliness, and prioritizing. The article is in and now, as soon as I post this blog, I can run over to the hospital and drive my brother home.
