...AND THIS LITTLE PIGGY WENT WEEEEE, ALL THE WAY HOME

Home is where the heart is. My baby granddaughter steals my heart every time I see her bursting smile when I wiggle her toes and belt, “This little piggy…”

Her wide grin automatically appears when I get to the part where she anticipates the punchline tickle. It happens as I pick up her tiny toe and giddily say, “this little piggy went wee, all the way home,” while running my finger up her side until I playfully tickle her sweet neck.

What does my playful act do? It takes me home. Home to my childhood and my parents tickling me as they ran their fingers up to my neck, chuckling along as I giggled. After laughing through the years as my parents later played with our nieces, then our children, now it’s our turn as my husband and I reap the joy.

Grandparenting is all they say it is and more. Best of all, it allows us to laugh with the memories of our youth.
