DEVIN'S ART

DEVIN'S ART

Sharon Cohen shared some of your art work with me since she knows that I’m your cousin and also a painter. Your work is wonderful, and congratulations on being able to show in so many venues!

There are so many “artsy” people in our lives. In this case, I shared our nephew’s work with his half 2nd cousin, Judy, an attorney and accomplished artist in her own right, winning many awards and showcasing her fabulous works. She asked if it would be okay to contact Devin directly before sending him the above comment.

That’s me. Promoting a family history with flare is what I do. See, JUST WHO ARE/WERE OUR COUSINS?, dated October 16, 2018, at sharonmarkcohen.com. Merely keeping a paper trail, as one cousin cautioned, is unfinished work. I’m interested in bringing a legacy to every single one of our relatives. The way to do that, I’ve decided, is to have others in the same field review the works for me.

My brother Al says that my husband and I have all accomplished and worldly friends. We appreciate them all and enjoy sharing their works. Our art collection features works by friends and relatives. Many of their pieces are hanging or out on display throughout our house. Stacks of books we own were authored by our nearest and dearest, as well as the most distant of relatives, who are a part of our family tree.

As I told our nephew Devin, if only there were no pandemic, we would be so honored to be at the exhibit that we would be there with bells on! The works are showing at galleries in Mexico, and Devin’s pieces are held in private collections globally.

My other latest endeavor is to promote my cousin Julia Temnogorod’s book. Julia, from Kursk, Russia, is living in Be’er-Sheva, Israel. Her sister Lilia Goyzman is the illustrator of Yiddishe Shteitele: Yiddish Songbook with Scores and Lyrics by Julia Temnogorod. See Who Knew?, dated February 1, 2022.

So far, I have contacted a handful of people about Julia’s work. The list starts with our next-door neighbor/friend Tula Giannini. Our cousin, Jonathan Nadel, and another cousin, Charles Neidich, were added to the list. Now that I’ve finished the name-dropping, check out their bios.
